Specifications 1 Junction Box :- Die Cast Aluminium alloy, Flame Proof & Weather Proof Junction Box, with wall mounted, with side earth cable termination arrangement, IP 65 Protection. 2 4.1 Separate Junction Boxes shall be used for IS and non-IS signals. Further, it shall be segregated based on type of signal like intrinsic safe signals, alarm, shutdown, thermocouple, RTDs, Gas Detectors etc. for interfacing to control room. 4.2 The junction boxes shall be of die cast aluminum alloy, flameproof with Ex(d) certification and IP65 as minimum. JB shall be PESO approved for specified hazardous area classification. 4.3 Junction box terminals shall be push-fit clamp on type with side cable entry and shall be minimum suitable for 2.5 mm2 cable. 4.4 Each junction box shall have minimum of 10% or 2 nos. minimum spare entries. 4.5 Each junction box shall be provided with 2 multi-cable entries with one plugged with suitable weatherproof & flame proof plugs as required. 4.6 All spare entries shall be provided with SS plugs. 4.7 All cable entries shall be from bottom only. 4.8 Junction boxes shall be earthed to dedicated earth pit or Plant earth grid. 4.9 All Junction boxes should be provided with covered canopies.
